Super Mario Advance is actually a better version of Super Mario Bros 2 (American Version aka Doki Doki Panic). You can either play as Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Toad. Overall, Mario is well balanced, but he lacks in jumping sometimes. Luigi excels at jumping the highest. Peach can float temporary. Toad is good at running (I guess).

Anyways, this game originally was Doki Doki Panic. Shigeru Miyamoto thought that Super Mario Bros 2 (Japanese version aka Lost Levels) was a little bit too challenging for Americans (including myself). They decided to make another less challenging Super Mario Bros 2, and took some elements from Doki Doki Panic.

Usually, Mario games don't have much of a story. In this game, Mario had a dream that he was in a strange world name Subcon. He told his brother and friends about it, so they all met up with each other. I also remembered that Mario was walking on some very long stairs. Wart is a fat frog who hates eating vegetables. He's also the final boss of the game. Also, Bowser didn't make an appearance at all. After you beat the game, you can see that Mario was dreaming for the entire time.

This game is a better version of Super Mario Bros 2 for several reasons. First, you are able to save anytime you want. In the original version, you couldn't save at all (I think). Second, the graphics are a lot brighter and very colorful. Even the characters look great in this game. Third, once you beat the game, your new objective is to find all of the Yoshi eggs. Fourth, this game also has a two player game called Mario Bros (not Super Mario Bros).

Presentation - 7 Mario and his buddies are in a new, strange world called Subcon. This game will hold your attention for a good long time. You can also play the original Mario Bros, and versus against each other. For once you can finally save your progress.

Graphics - 8 The graphics are brighter and more colorful than ever before.

Sound - 7 The music is not much different, but I like how the characters actually speak (not in full sentences). It's funny how Mario and Luigi say mamma-mia when they die. LOL

Game play - 10 This game is very hardcore and challenging (not as challenging at the original Super Mario Bros 2).

Lasting Approval - 7 Once you beat the game, you can find all of the Yoshi eggs, play Mario Bros, or start over again.

Overall: 7.8 I have to round the score up a bit.
