Different, yet good.

When this game was released in Japan it was called Doki Doki Panic. However Nintendo of America replaced the main characters with Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Toadstool. And I'm glad they did or it would not have become the hit it did. That said this game is a great game, though not necessarily one that all Mario fans would enjoy. When I first played this game many years ago I instantly loved it for the pulling of turnips and throwing them at shy-guys and the potions to get the mushrooms that result in an extra heart. This game also introduced many now famous Mario characters. It was also a puzzle game in it's own respect requiring intelligence to get through many obstacles on your way to the end of the game. In short this game is great.
