Mario on his own…And a dog laughing at ducks being shot???

User Rating: 9.8 | Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt NES
This is the first Mario game that is a platformer, I don’t consider Donkey Kong or the battle Mario Bros. platformers. One of the greatest games of all time, reason being, that this game was what other games were based on, the first of its kind. And Duck Hunt…nothing like it, making this a great package.

The original Mario, for the NES, brings back so many memories. It was the first game I ever played, and I was two then. It only took me a week to be it for the first time… ah gooood times, good times… Anyway, the story is simple Princess Toadstool is captured by a large lizard, turtle monster named, none other than, Bowser. You have to go through eight worlds that have a different theme. Of course you can skip these by going into warp tubes, but that’s no fun. The graphics are pixilated, but that was the standard on the NES. The sound is unforgettable. Everyone who’s anyone, has heard that famous theme that is played throughout the game. Even though the soundtrack is limited, it doesn’t get boring or repetitive.

Duck Hunt is a light gun game full of fun. I know I used to cheat by going right up to the TV screen and shooting the ducks, but still it was fun for me. When I play now, I refrain from doing that. Not much else to say, other than the graphics are about the same as Mario, and the sound is limited.

This is a game that everyone should own if they have an NES.
