Super Mario Galaxy 2 does a superb job once again but this time Yoshi joins Mario in this new adventure.
There are new abilities in the game including brand new Power-ups and even Yoshi has his own abilities when you ride on him and I'm pleased that Yoshi makes his appearance in the game for real.
The game itself is just like the last game but with a little difference here. You don't have to walk or run to the next room to search for the next level but now this time round you are on a Starship run by a fat Luma called Lubba who is the Captain of the ship and you fly through each portal to each galaxy where all the levels are spread out nicely and acts more like a world map like in Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros. where you have to move yourself forward through each level to get to the Boss level to fight Bowser etc.

Rock Mushroom - Rock Mario
Cloud Mushroom - Cloud Mario
Spinning Drill (that's not really a Power-Up but Mario carries it around where here goes)
Bee Mushroom - Bee Mario
Spring Mushroom - Spring Mario
Fire Flower - Fire Mario
Ice Flower - Ice Mario
Here is a list of Yoshi's Power-Ups:
Dash Pepper - When Yoshi eats it, he will run very fast and he will even run up walls.
Balloon berry - When Yoshi eats it, he will inflate himself up like a balloon and he will float up in the air with mario on top of him to higher platforms
Bulb Berry - When Yoshi eats it, he will brighten up light in dark and hidden areas.
When you lose a life more than 5 to 7 times in the game, a blue cosmic Princess Rosalina will appear as a Cosmoe guide which will help you how to complete the level properly and Luigi will take over and to the level for you but at the end you will only get a Bronze Power Star not a Gold one but if you want to get the Gold Power Star in that level you have to do it again without the guide.
In between levels of the game Luigi, arrives in a level and asks you if he wants to take over for a while so you can play as Luigi temporarily but if you want to play as Luigi permanently you, have to complete the game first.
Once you completed the game you can be Mario or Luigi at any time plus a special Galaxy will be unlocked as well where you take on a lot of harder and challenging levels but you have to collect more Power Stars in order to play on those levels.
On the other hand, Super Mario Galaxy 2 delivers the same gameplay experience from the first Super Mario Galaxy game but it's definitly a lot better and it's definitly a must buy.
