Would admit that the Super Mario World series on the Game Boy are in fact enjoyable especially when the original Game Boy was released in the early 90's where gamers can play the Mario games when they are out on a family holiday or a trip out somewhere or even on the bus to work. With the success of Super Mario Land during the launch of the Game Boy, a sequel was pretty much in the works straight away the main objective is to reclaim his castle, stolen by Wario. However, the magical seal that Wario placed on the castle entrance can only be undone by collecting the six Golden Coins, which are guarded by Wario's henchmen in various locales of Mario Land.
Like most Mario games you have to reach the end of each level and of course beating one of the 6 bosses you'll encounter in each area in Super Mario Land 2; you do have your power ups like the Super Mushroom to make you bigger or the Fire Flower to throw fireballs at enemies or the Magic Carrot which can make Mario fly for a short time if you keep tapping the A button. The visuals still stand it today from the unique the 8-bit environments from the underwater stages to the moon stages it still holds up since its release back in 1992 on the original cartridge which I would recommend to anyone who wants to play a Mario game on the handheld, however you can pick this up on the Nintendo eShop for the 3DS at cheap price.
For anyone who doesn't play Mario games that often on any Nintendo consoles or never owned a Nintendo system I would recommend Super Mario Land series to anyone out there that just want a plain and simple game in fact this would be recommended to anyone who isn't into gaming at all this could well be a great example on getting them into gaming more. This is one of the easiest Mario games in the series if you ask me but it does do a great job on it making you want to continue even further and further collecting all 6 Golden Coins and completing the game.
