This sequel to the 1989 classic is not as challenging, but a whole lot of fun.
NEGATIVES: Somewhat less challenging than Super Mario Land; Visual design a little disfigured; Not such a good title.
Nintendo created the first portable gaming device called the Gameboy in 1989. (Discluding the Game & Watch). During that year, they released Super Mario Land, which became popular during its time. Three years later, Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins was released. How did it turn out? It turned to be less challenging, but still a superb entry in Mario's many games.
Peach is not the damsel in distress in this game. In fact, there is no damsel. The plot in this game turns out to be a wicked man by the name of Wario took over Mario's castle, and in order to save it, Mario has to collect the six golden coins spread out all over the kingdom. In the game, Mario encounters numerous enemies and bosses, all in which are well-designed and memorable. There are six lands in all, though there are other levels as well outside the lands. These lands include the moon, a toy Mario, a house full of bugs, and the three other courses in which somehow I can't remember. The classic side-scrolling gameplay plays out very well and the controls are phenomenal. Each level is very well-designed and fits well with the setting. The graphics turned out to be pretty well, too, and who could forget this is Wario's debut?
Unfortunately, it's not as challenging as Super Mario Land and there's disfigured visuals, espicially with Wario. Plus, the title is not simplistic and not too good. However, This sequel to the 1989 classic is not as challenging, but a whole lot of fun. I give Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, a 8.5 out of 10.
Final Word: It's defenitely a fun game, and for the last time it's WARIO'S!!!! debut.
