The Super Mario Bros. 2 that never really happened

I was very curious about this game, since it seems to be very rare, and how it compared to its NES and SNES counterparts. And, I'm here to tell you that this game really is the real SMB 2, both in spirit and gameplay.

Forget color, forget fast-paced gameplay, and forget your fancy high resolution NES, and forget easy victories. This game throws them all out the door. While it relates SMB3, it's smaller, less colorful, slower paced, and a tiny bit harder, especially with the controls on the brink 'insensitive'. Before you forget about this game, however, you should know that it feels just like the game which should have gone between SMB and SMB3, instead of the unoriginal copy that was SMB2.

The gameplay itself is very fun, since there's a map screen right off the bat, similar to SMB3, which is a huuuugge plus in my book. However, the screen is too tiny to see much with. Now, if only they'd remake it on the Wii or GBA...

This game, if you can find it, is worth a purchase, but only for 2D mario fans.
