This 1989 Game Boy game still manages to be amazing 17 years after it came out. Read my review to find out why.
For those of you not acquainted with that game, it's a Japanese Game Boy game that has 54 Game Boy games in 1 cartridge. It had quality titles such as Spider-Man, Space Invaders, Volleyfire and World Bowling. But best of all was this... SUPER MARIO LAND!
In the 7-10 years I've had this game, I still haven't beat it, maybe I suck at the game. But I don't care, because it's been a lot of fun playing it for that long.
Gameplay: If you've ever played pretty much any Mario title ever, you know the drill. The Princess is kidnapped and Mario comes to find her. This game plays a lot like the NES Super Mario Bros. series, except in handheld form. You can't really go wrong with an old Mario game, so you know what's in for you. 10 for Gameplay.
Replay Value: As I said before, I've been playing this for 7-10 years, and I still am not tired of it. I feel that's pretty good replay value. 10 for Value.
Graphics: Well, what do you expect from a 1989 Mario game? Graphics don't exactly matter to me. 9 for graphics, just because the game is cool.
Sound: Can't go wrong with old Mario tunes either. They'll get stuck in your head, so you might turn the volume down just to escape from hours of Super Mario music playing over and over in your head. 9 For sound.
Overall, I'm giving this game a 9.5, meaning Superb. It's not perfect, by any means, but it's one classic game.
Highly recommended.
