Review: Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars

Back near the end of the life span of the SNES, Nintendo and then Squaresoft got together and made the first Crossover RPG combining the world of everyone's favorite plumber with the wonder of Squaresoft's RPG's

Story:
The Princess has been kidnapped by Bowser again, and now Mario must rescue her, but is there something much for sinister afoot other than Bowser's usual shenanigans?

Graphics: 2D Graphics were not only the norm but the standard during the SNES days with a few notable exceptions. Super Mario RPG is in full 3D, and was the First 3D RPG released on the market, and the graphics are amazing for a 16 bit game, they even blow the Graphics of Donkey Kong Country out of the water.

Music:
The soundtrack is also excellent and uses many of the familiar tunes that one would come to expect from the Mario games and the rest is lent from high quality Squaresoft music department, which also made the excellent soundtracks for Secret of Mana, and the Final Fantasy Series, and easily became one of the best soundtracks on the SNES

Control:
Super Mario RPG is a turn based RPG with action elements because when you attack, you can perform more attacks if you push a button at a certain time, you may perform an extra attack, or add more power to an attack or any other actions depending on the type of attack you use. Controls are tight and responsive in all respects including most of the mini games, some of the mini games are a little delayed in the reaction time, but in the long run do not rally affect the game too much.

Design:
This was the first time that the world of Mario was brought to 3d and Squaresoft did a wonderful job of creating a 3d RPG while capturing the whimsy of the Mario universe, the story is different than almost all other RPG's out there, and featured a first for the Mario universe providing an actual storyline.

Mario fans will love this game, RPG fans will love this game, and rookies to RPG's will like this game, if you own a SNES you owe it to your self to play this game.

Super Mario RPG legend of the Seven Stars:

Pros:

Great Battles
