This game is a lot of fun, yet it might get old fast if you don't have anyone to play it with.

User Rating: 7.2 | Super Mario Strikers GC
Super Mario Strikers is following the recent effort to wring as much out of the Mario license as absoluetely possible. This year alone, Mario has championed three sports games. Also, like tennis, kart racing, baseball, and golf, Mario's soccer exploit gives you fast-paced action with simple controls and plenty of goofy power-ups to keep the game moving.

Super Mario Strikers has all the essentials, (i.e. Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Wario, and Waluigi) and has several fields of play. Also, the gameplay is as fast and crazy as ever. Games last for five minutes, which flys by fairly quickly. In my opinion, the greatest part of this game is being able to check people, just like in hockey. Believe me, there's no better feeling then checking Peach into the electric grid border and then scoring while hearing her screams of pain.

Violence aside, this game also suffers the same negatives as the previous sports installments. Unless you are a hardcore soccer fan, this game will get tedious fast. There are several cups to play in, but its really all the same thing, a big game of Pong. But then again, this comes to be the problem in most soccer games out there. Also, the sound is really lacking. Besides hearing a little guitar riff when you score, theres no music at all. The character voices are nice, but you can only hear them cheer a few times before you want to turn the sound off.

Super Mario Strikers is definately a rental. If you like soccer, or just really hate Peach, consider buying it. Otherwise don't waste your hard earned money unless you're planning a geek-infested LAN party. Then pop it in after everyone gets sick of Halo 2.
