Super Mario Strikers is probably one of the best wacky sports games I have played just because of the soccer gameplay. The cups were pretty enjoyable, but weren't too challenging. The first set to beat is pretty easy if you can get the concept of passing the ball around and actually have a minor strategy. The second set is only a bit more difficult. At times, you will destroy your opponent, but there seems to always be that one team that just has your number. Usually, they will also be the team you play in the final game of those cups. So, what the cups boil down to is that the only difficult games are the last ones. This makes sense, but the hardest cup should be awfully difficult to complete in my opinion.
That being said, this game is a great multiplayer game to play with your friends. I found myself laughing at the goofy gameplay as my friends and I played through the game. That's another thing that this game did right. You can play the cups with multiple people, unlike Mario Power Tennis or Mario Superstar Baseball. So, you don't just have to play the computer in exhibition matches if you have some friends over.
All in all, this game is pretty fun, but it just doesn't seem to have that factor that makes it a great Mario sports game. I regret buying it for 50 dollars. But, if you wait till the price drops, it could turn out to be a good purchase.
