Just as the GameSpot review says, if you were into the arcade soccer games of old, (and I'm talking late 80s/early 90s here) you'll want to get this. It's not much of a realistic soccer game, but is jam packed with loads of fun. Though the game can be played to boredom in single-player mode, the game becomes a non-stop fun fest as soon as you get into multiplayer, though single player really isn't that bad. All in all, I think this game really captures the true image of what real video games are made of; "Gameplay over presentation". Though the graphics are flashy enough, what it all comes down to is gameplay, and I truly think that's where this game excels. If you're a fan of the Mario sports series or just looking for a game that will remind you of old-school arcade games, Super Mario Strikers is definately your best bet.
