Some flaws hold this game back

User Rating: 8.3 | Super Mario Sunshine GC
Super Mario Sunshine is the first and only Mario platformer on the GameCube. It is alot like Super Mario 64 and kind of controls like it, but there are some changes. Unlike in Super Mario 64, Mario now has a waterpack that allows him to spray enemies with water and use it as a jet that will shoot him into the air and he can then hover for a short period of time. During the game there are other nozzeles to the waterpack and will do different things when used. Mario can still jump on his enemies, but the ability to punch and kick has been removed for the waterpack. The game itself looks good even up to today's standard. The gameplay is pretty good, but the camera is very bad and sometimes the game is frustrating as a result of this. For example when you are trying to fix it a certain way to do something it will change from where you placed it. Each place to collect stars are spread out around the plaza of the town you are in and will have about 8 stars per level. Some of these challenges are easy and some can be pretty challenging. The camera is a bit frustrating, but the game doesn't completly ruin the experience. If you liked Super mArio 64 or Mario period, I would recommend this game to you.
