The SNES classic is now on GBA. Though the transfer from SNES to GBA isn't perfect, Super Mario World is still worthy.

Gameplay: Every once in a while, Nintendo tries to release a great Mario platformer for gamers out there to enjoy for years to come. Super Mario World is one of those games. With many kinds of introductions of moves and skills, Super Mario World is worthy in most aspects. Once again, Bowser has kidnapped Princess Peach and has taken her hostage on Dinosaur Island. Now Mario and Luigi must go through the entire island to search for the princess. You get to play as ether Mario or Luigi on your quests. Even though the brother's moves are practically the same, they reflect a little differently. On the way, they meet Yoshi, a green little dinosaur that Mario or Luigi can ride on and use him to eat up your enemies and spit them out in goofy ways. With over 70 stages, you play through some challenging 2D stages on your way to Bowser. Following the footsteps from the Nintendo classic, Super Mario Bros. 3, you can transform Mario or Luigi into several suits. The suits include a cape to fly with, a fire suit to shoot fireballs like the classic days, and many more. In addition, there are several secret areas in some stages so you can play mini-games to obtain new items. There are even extra gates that you must complete in order to beat the game. Nintendo was nice enough to add an old arcade called Mario Bros. as an extra to have fun if you get a little tired of the main game. Overall, Super Mario World, once a great hit from the SNES days and still is, hits the GBA with almost everything from the old days. Graphics: The graphics remain pretty much the same as the SNES port. The game is highly colorful and well detailed. The character and backround designs are very creative. The special effects are well-fitting and so is the animation. Everything that appeared on the SNES port is pretty much the exact same for the GBA. And that's a great thing. Sound: The soundwork, however, is not the exact same as the SNES version. Some of the songs sound a little different then what they original sound. Also worth mentioning, are the sound effects. Some of the sound effects are a little too quiet and aren't too great. Even Yoshi sounds a little quiet. For the GBA version of Super Mario World, Nintendo decided to add the memorable voices from the Mario games today. They fit in well with this classic game. Overall, the sound for Super Mario World isn't as good as the original, but it’s still great. Overall: Mario fans have a great opportunity to try a classic 2D platformer on the go for their GBA. Super Mario World features fantastic gameplay, great graphics and music, and a good lasting replay value. Anyone a fan of Mario should have this game in their collection. This game is a true classic and probably always will be. In fact, anyone with a GBA would do well to try this out. Pros: -Fantastic gameplay -Great graphics -Good music -Good lasting replay value Cons: -A few songs and sound effects don't sound like the SNES original.
