Mario's flagship SNES game is still the best platformer ever made!

User Rating: 9.4 | Super Mario World: Super Mario Bros. 4 SNES
Super Mario World is what any other platformer tries to emulate. A huge world to explore and lots of secrets to find. Lots of different types of monsters to fight and gadgets to use. Different routes to a certain location and multiple ways to finish a level. A couple of friends that will help you along the way. Mario World had 96 levels.. with virtually no filler!! The superb level design made sure each of the levels had it's own challenge and distinctive look. This may be the reason why so many people replay this game either thru an emulator.. or if they are lucky enough, the good old SNES.

The graphics are impressive considering it was a first generation SNES game. It was already using some of the advance features like the Mode 7. The sound and music are as catchy as anything you'll hear in a video game and will stay in your head. Remember that little song that played each time you'd finish a level? Yeah i remember it as well!!

Gameplay is unsurpassed. The game is challenging but not cheap... if i could unlock all 96 worlds, pretty much everyone can with a little patience!

Lots of games tried to capture the magic this game created but the only thing that was close was the Yoshi Island sequel. Nintendo did a good job by releasing this game on the Gameboy Advanced... now a new generation has the chance to play this masterpiece!
