Awesome game, deffinatly the star icon of the nintendo series, no mistake. and for a good reason too!
Facing the facts, the story is short and sweet. Though I would score it perfect if it had a little more story, maybe the fact that the story is so simple and easy to grasp, is what makes it so good. It is so simple that the game manages to take about 30 seconds to a minute explaining, and you then won’t forget it. If you have played any other game, you will know, that Princess Peach has been captured by Boozer, and the Koopas, and it is your job to navigate Mario through the rich and colorful levels to rescue her. Great story, no problems, just sort of short.
The game is really easy to understand, its a rather simple sidescroller where you run around jumping on the heads of enemies, and picking up an assortment of power ups that makes it easier for you to progress through the levels and even maybe making it so you can get to even more difficult secret levels. The levels get progressively more difficult, so don't expect to zip through every level, with perfect ease, and because most gamers will hit a point were they will have to try thinking a little.
This game is perfect for kids, there is no gore, or anything unsavory within this game, so don't worry about that. The graphics and sound make a great environment for you to feel a little relaxed. Because of the colorful backgrounds, and happy, care free music makes you feel at home, unlike some of the newer games of our day which don't try to make you enjoy it. This makes the game fun to play, no doubt, perfect music, and you will notice that anyone knows the theme song.
You can easily replay the whole game, over and over, without getting bored because the levels are so savory, and you will find yourself thinking on your second run thinking how you could have beat each level better.
I think this is a great oldies game that you should have in your collection, go to your used game store now or try to rent it if you can, just play it!!
