Super Metroid is often hailed as the greatest game of all time, even surpassing Legend of Zelda, is it really that good?
Story: Super Metroid's story centers around a bounty hunter named, Samus Aran. When a metroid hatchling is stolen from a research station, she has to go to a planet named Zebes, where she will have to fight, space pirates, other metroids, and eventually, the leader of the metroids, Mother Brain.
Gameplay: Super Metroid is a side-scrolling action-adventure game, where you play as Samus fighting her way through the caverns of Zebes trying to save the metroid hatchling. First of all the control is spot on, everything works perfectly, and all the buttons are used right. Samus also has plenty of upgrades to acquire on the way, most of them mandatory to proceed. Every serves multiple purposes, so there wont be many times where you only use a item once, espeacily sicemost are also weapons. The one thing about Super Metroid that never ceases to amaze me thou, is the major boss fights. Most of them around ten times your size, and some taking up around three screens. Even thou they are huge, once you find the bosses weak spot, they are very manageable. Over all, just plain amazing.
Presentation: At face value, Super Metroid's graphics are by no means special, but the distinctive art style is both beautiful, and at times creepy. Where Metroid really shines thou, is its music. You will never here anything like it unless you're playing another Metroid game. Every area also has a specific tune for every area, which really personifies that area
*note* I dont expect you to watch the whole thing, just skip around and hear all the music.
