Best of the Series.
Super Metroid is a game where you take control of a female Bounty Hunter named Samus Aran. The game starts out as a flashback intro with her telling you of her first two adventurers stopping the Mother Brain from the first game and eradicating every Metroid from the face of their home planet. Albeit, all but one hatchling metroid who she then sells or gives to a Galactic Colony Research Center. Sudden she gets a distress Signal from none other than the Research center she just came from. They're under attack! By the same dragon named Ridley as from the first game. He escapes from you and sets the auto-destruct sequence off and you have to make haste to get out of the center before it explodes. That's just the introduction.
The graphics are really top notch for a Snes game of those days. The backgrounds are static pictures and don't have much going on but, the creatures are all unique and interesting looking sprites. Samus herself looks quite impressive and 'breathes' when she's standing still.
The sound is another of it's highlights. the sound effects sound great and the music is quite catchy and tend to stick with you and never get on your nerves. The explosions from Missiles you fire so pretty good and the power bombs sound like they do massive damage.
The game will keep you coming back since it's unlikely that you'll find everything in your first time through. Beating the game in certain time limits gives you Samus wearing something different. The faster you beat it, the more of the suit she has off. Beat it under 2 hours and you get her in a bikini.
Super Metroid Is a great game and is well worth checking out by anyone who has even a remote interest in Platformers or video games in general.
