super metroid definitely defines the metroid series for me

super metroid in my opinion is easily the best metroid game in the series. it is definitely one of the best 2D games (if not games in general) iv ever played. i instantly fell in love with it and i think iv beaten it a thousand times but it just never get old. every time you play it through you find something new that you didnt notice the first time around

the game starts with a little history lesson from the previous two metroid games and ties into the beginning of the game. the graphics arent bad but the gameplay is amazing, and its complimented by a nice array of atmosphere changing music. before you begin the game you can adjust your controls to what suits you best. the controls are very comfortable and just fall under your fingers. there are 3 different endings you can see each depending on the amount of time it took you to complete the game. also after you beat the game it informs you on your item collection completion percentage (whoa big word)

bottom line, super metroid is a great game, and by the time you finally beat it, you'll just want to go back and beat it again faster, and with more items collected. and trust me, you will. again and again and again and.. well.. you get the point
