Classic. Might be the best Metroid game of them all.
User Rating: 10 | Super Metroid SNES
I have to use the word perfect when describing Super Metroid, there is no other way to describe this game back in 1994. As with all games, there are a few frustrating moments, all of which are nothing that wasn’t intended or won’t be looked back upon later and praised, even. With some cool hiding spots for items and the ambitious goal of finding them all, replay ability is heightened significantly. The ending was great and left room for a sequel and the story as a whole was something that was magical. Graphics: Super Metroid is graphically one of the best Super Nintendo games ever made, rivaling that of many other two-dimensional games of the 32-bit generation. Graphically, this one truly stands the tests of time because of its artistic value. Sounds: Sounds are your typical AAA nintendo quality. The kind of music and sound that you will remember every time you hear it even if it is 10 years later. It truly sets an incredible atmosphere. The musical score changes depending on where you are in the game and sets the mood perfectly. The baby metroid cry is something no one will ever forget! Gameplay: Do I need to say anything except that it is perfect? The variety of weapons and moves that you get keeps you wondering what you will get next and how you can use it in certain situations. There are a lot of moves and weapons and a lot of depth with how you use them. This game is the defenition of fun. This title made clear that Metroid was back in a big way…which is why Super Metroid will always remain a part of gaming history, hailed as one of the greatest games of all time. Perhaps the best Metroid game ever made, yes even better than Metroid Prime. Let this game Super Metroid serve as a reminder of why we all have loved Nintendo and how they are the masters at making exclusive first party games that stay with you for all time.
