The best Metroid game ever - enough said

User Rating: 9.6 | Super Metroid SNES
I read a review of Super Metroid in a gaming magazine when I was around 14, and had never tried Metroid on NES before. I was curious of what it was.

The screenshots they had chosen were eyecatching. They displayed Brinstar, Crateria, Maridia and some foes. I started drooling the very first moment I saw the pics.

I had no money to buy it, so I gathered some unuseful stuff I didn't need anymore and sold them for a good buck.
Then I put all my earned money on a brand new copy of Super Metroid

Here's the view I got from playing Super Metroid:

Gameplay: Outstanding and perfected!
Graphics: The bossdesign and various places made my eyes roll in their sockets. Simply amazing!
Sound: The background music was so full of emotion and feel that you couldn't get enough of it. And all the sounds...they were perfectly placed everywhere.
Value: I played it through around 50 times in a row before I decided to give my SNES-controls a break.

I have GameCube and I can tell you right now that Metroid Prime is no good. It lacks the atmosphere Super Metroid has, and not only that, I hate the first-person perspective in the game. It ruins the feel completely.

Super Metroid is and will always be the best Metroid game ever made.
