One of the greatest sci-fi games for the SNES. Definitely a must-own.

In the third installment of the timeless Metroid series, Samus Aran returns to planet Zebes to battle ruthless space pirates and locate the last surviving metroid before Mother Brain can use it as a biological weapon with which to conquer the galaxy.


The game takes place in an expansive world of diverse environments and an abundance of unique alien species. Along the way, you'll have to locate all the Chozo statues and upgrades in order to fully power-up Samus for the final showdown.

The graphics are some of the best I've seen on the SNES and the controls are articulate enough to provide decent gameplay. Plenty of weapons, abilities and power-ups supplement the action while the engrossing story, eerie music and average sound effects set the mood. This is not a short game either, as you must collect a whole lot of items to earn 100% in order to see the best ending.

Regardless of whether you're a fan of the series, Super Metroid is an instant classic.
