O-VER-RATED

User Rating: 4.5 | Super Monkey Ball 2 GC
Graphics: The graphics are bright and clean, but they should be for a game where all you are looking at is a track and a background. This is probably the best part of the game.

Gameplay: You roll around in a ball avoiding obstacles. That is the gameplay. Enough said.

Sound: The background music was mediocre at best. The real problem with the sound is every time you beat a level you get this high pitch 4 year old screaming something at you. Its really annoying, and I eventually just played on mute.

Value: Well first off, I didn't like the multiplayer. Throwing in a bunch of minigames at the end would seem like it could add value, but in MB2, it doesn't. The only one I slightly enjoyed was the racing game, and I would rather just play mariokart. Really the only thing this game has going for it is its difficulty. It is hard and there are a lot of levels and obstacles to get through. If you are a stubborn person who likes to beat games just because its hard, then you MAY like this game. I thought I was one of those people, but not this time.

Tilt: This game confused me. The graphics and characters were aimed at a 5 year old audience while the difficulty was aimed for mature. The cute characters and dialogue that has the monkeys singing/dancing/rhyming with the word poo is just plain embarrassing. I bought this game, and it was a huge mistake. Don't do the same.

Oh and by the way. Before half of the levels you have to roll backwards to hit a switch to slow the obstacles down. If you played the game you know what I'm talking about. It is totally unecessary and in a game where you will retry and retry the same levels until you get it right, its VERY frustrating.
