The single player is band-aided by cylindrical blocks. On later levels these blocks are placed on paths that are grooved to push you off and break the flow of the game. Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll is made for the balance board with the Wiimote as a second thought. The difficulty curve on some levels with added blocks does not stay consistent. SMBSR is very easy and rewarding in the beginning rounds. The game then reaches a midway point by world four and becomes frustrating due to poorly supported Wiimote controls. I have not played the mini-games or played the game with a balance board to see if the game holds enough mustard to round it out. The visuals are appealing but the gameplay is unsatisfying. It is hard to recommend and feels broken. New levels should have been created or readjusted for different control schemes. Many levels feel too easy only to be made difficult with obstructive objects that lessen your enjoyment.
