I like this game but I dont love this game. It's unique and fun but can be frustrating and wordy.

This is the first paper mario game ve ever played so I have no way to compare it to previous versions and only know what Ive read from other reviewers. I love to read, and love games with immersive stories, but this goes a bit far, because it seemed like I spent fifteen minutes reading and reading and reading before I ever even started the game. I like the visual appeal of the 2d 3d switch and I think its clever to be able to play a good old fashioned 2d game and switch to 3d to discover more things and to figure out how to get past a board. Alot of the animations are very cute, the characters, the innovative little things like the switching from the forefront to the background like when you must get the drawbridge guard to lower the bridge or when you have to stand in a particular square to be transported from one square to another on that squares elevator. It has alot of cute and clever things to make this a rewarding game. It is INCREDIBLY annoying though, because when you're stuck you're stuck good. Overall, as a Mario fan, this is a great game.
