All the elements that made SSB a complex fighting game were taken off this title. Multiplayer review inside..

User Rating: 7 | Super Smash Bros. Brawl WII
I've been hitting Nintendo character's since SSB N64, played more than 1000 hours of the Melee version and couldn't wait to see the Wii one...

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a good game, but it isn't meant for hardcore players, everything that made this game frenetic was taken off.

1. Greatly unbalanced characters: When taking SSB to a higher level of competition, like championships, there are 3 ,perhaps 4 characters that you can choose or else i'll be completely crushed.

2. Erroneous movement style: You can trip. ??? Yes, trip. How can a fighting game possibly make your character trip if you tap your controller too fast?! That just limits the combos, and make SSB combo lovers pissed.

3. All "glitches" that made SSB and Melee great were removed:
This is for hardcore gamers, people who just play SSB at parties probably never heard of this. On both previous versions os Smash, there was a technique called "L-cancelling" that consisting of pressing the defence button ("Z on N64 or L/R on GC) just before landing after an aerial attack. That opened a wide variety of combos to ALL characters, even Bowser or DK.
On Wii that was simply removed, making the game unplayabçe for those who sought the same competitivity of the previous titles.

4. Extremely easy to complete 100%: This is in comparison to Melee, where you had to do near-impossible stuff to receive some fun messages like: "You've beaten adventure on Very Hard with 1 stock only :D". This game is just.. beatable.

Bottom line: Have played SSB or SSBM? Do you like them?

YES! then this game WILL let you down, they've taken what made this a hardore & softcore gamer's game. Leaving only the softcore face of the coin.

NO! Buy this. You will laugh a lot, compete a lot against your friends and make a big success at family parties.

For me it was a complete let down. Read my Melee review for further reference. :)
