not your conventional fighter, and proving nintendo is not your conventional company.
ok now that all the newbies are gone here's the review portion.
so rarely is a genre renovated and polished to the point of reaching near perfection, but smash bros does that to the fighting genre and it is oh so evident once you put your hand on the controller and knock that glory hound plumber into the abyss. the replay value is unrivaled, the graphics and sound work out decently but are not the main draw, the main draw to this game is what it should be to all games: gameplay.
the controls are precise, there's a pluthora of modes and secrets to unlock and the multiplayer is as much fun as you could get. This game took a genre, mixed in a few original concepts, improved upon an already excellent formula, and became a system seller.
this is a perfect example of what gaming is all about.
