The first Super Smash Brothers was probably (in many opinions) the second best game on the Nintendo 64, 2nd only to Zelda:Ocarina of Time. Melee completes the original, and transforms it into the best multiplayer game on the gamecube. The first error in the original, was the lack of single player. Melee gives you 4 different ways to enjoy single player, Classic, Adventure, All Star, and Event Mode. These combine to form a great single player experience that you will inevitably play, because in order to unlock the hundreds of hours of bonus content, you will need to play and replay the single player portion. The second error was the amount of characters. Melee also fixes this with 25 characters (26 if you count shiek as an individual character) most of which have their own unique abilities. Some characters such as Fox, are lightning fast, and hard to hit, but cant take as much damage as say, Bowser with his slow but deadly moves. The last major error was the frame rate. The original just couldnt function its best on the Nintendo 64, but with the gamecube the action is much more estatic, and involving. Super Smash Brothers Melee is simply the best multiplayer game on the gamecube. Its unparalleled fast paced action and awesome graphics just prove it.
