It doesn't matter how oldit is it has all you need for the perfect party game. You get all the classic characters from the old nintendo games plus lot's of new ones. You can also have many different stages you can choose from. If you have a GC than you NEED Super Smash bros. Melee. It is the number 1 Game Cube game of all time. If you have a couple of friends and want to play altogether in one game... this is the game for you. But it does not only have stuff for 2 or more players there are also lot's of different games for one player too.
