Super Smash Brothers Melee is an impressively deep and fun game that keeps you interested and busy months after tis release and personally I still play it regularly today. The selection of stages and characters are massive and each is unique. Every character has its own unique move sets and statistics and every level has its own traps and play styles. The process of opening up these levels and players is long and keeps you playing as does the various side games. Event mode, home run derby, adventure mode, and others keep you going long after the purchase. Of course the main draw is the multiplayer which is as fun as it was in SSBM's predecessor. Four player battles are chaotic and result in the most enjoyable multiplayer since the days of the Nintendo 64. To this day I still am involved in multiplayer tournaments in my dorm. The fighting is surprisingly deep despite the fact that it is essentially a two button fighter. The range of moves allows for some real strategy. Anyone who has a GameCube should have this game, if you don't then you should be required to go out and buy it now.
