EXTREMELY addicting.....a refreshment from squad-based tactical shooters, and a cool remake of an asteroids genre.

This small sized, challenging space blaster has a lot more potential than I realized. I orginally purchased this game because of the trophy feature, and I wanted to try the custom soundtrack feature, which worked a lot better than I imagined.

It turned out to be an attracting game......there is something relaxing and just plain awesome about shooting billions of projectiles and blasting gold-melting beams at hordes and hordes of strange enemies....and something strangely satisfying about obtaining trophies for doing so.

In the game itself, you will be given a choice of modes to play....my personal favorite arcade mode, in which you will progress through planets, defending them from asteroids, ufos, and other unexplainable organisms. You are given a choice of easy or normal difficulty. There is also a planet mode, in which you can go back and play a planet, and try to be your previous highscore, or obtain trophies. Finally, there is a co-op mode, which is really really really fun to play with a friend or sibling. Manning two different ships on the same screen, you will both play through the same planets, and destroy everything together.

You are given three main weapons: a rock crusher, a gold melter, and an ice blaster. Each is upgradeable through the game, very powerful, and each one is separately effective against enemies.

You need to experience this game to see how much fun you can have. Why not? If you are like me, you need a break from the mainstream shooters every now and then. And this playstation network game is actually FUN.
