A poor licensed GameBoy game. Buy it and burn it, this is without doubt the worst game in my entire gaming experience!

Before we really get started, I have to tell you that not much good can be said about Superman for GameBoy.

The storyline isn't the most original in gaming history; Superman's girlfriend get's kidnapped by the evil Lex Luther, and of course it is Superman's duty to retrieve her from the hands of evil.

The game is split out over 8 levels, where your goal as a player is to collect keys so you can move on to the next level. You do this by beating up enemies, usually in one or two hits, and some of them drops a key.. The keys are often hidden in what we in technical terms call a "moronic place", for instance right in front of your spawning place.
You have to get from the left side of the level to the right, by flying over and beating up the enemies.

The graphic is horrible, and several times I had trouble figuring out if it was a window or Superman I was looking at. The enemies are badly made as well, and the mushrooms from Super Mario Land (those that walk in only one direction and then change whenever they hit an obstacle) appears to have better AI than these guys. They fall of corners, into pits, and most of the time they are placed badly and are therefor not capable of giving even the slightest competition.

The sound is not anything to write home about either. Each level have its own soundtrack that runs in a loop, over and over again. It sounds like the programmers plugged in a synthesizer and had it create its own random series of notes. Not even pausing the game works, since the developers apparently did not have the time to shut off the music while pausing. The only thing you can do is turn the volume down. All the way down.

If you ever find this game in a bargain bin, buy it and burn it. You do not want anyone to have such horrible a thing happen to them. The only thing good about it, is that it only lasts somewhere between 30 and 40 minutes.
