Not so Supreme Commander
1. Supreme Commander 2 does not cater to the original fans of this IP.
2. Real Time Tactical Game -vs- Real Time STRATEGY game.
3. More cartoon feel, less gritty action
4. Winning formula for this game = build tons of generic feeling units, attack, repeat, build weak, badly designed "experimentals" and lots of them, attack and repeat.
5. This game tries to be very forgiving for the gamer who's base is destroyed and magically recovers from this a few minutes later... thus rewarding the non-strategist for some unknown reason.
6. Smaller maps
7. No unit tiers
8. Pathetic Engineer units who cannot build together a new factory but somehow can assist it in-mass once it's built. They can't even assist shields!
9. 30 minute Skirmish match... do we really want a faster game?
10. Building a quality base means nothing now
11. Pathing is pathetic. Sure a bunch of units can "flow" through each other but they get stuck navigating around large unmoveable objects like your factories!
12. Boring units with terrible AI. I could care less if my units lived or died, it was frustrating having to compensate for bad pathing and lack of good unit AI.. so when they all died... I was glad t was over.
Anyway... though not totally devoid of fun, this game does not deserve to wear the "Supreme Commander" badge. It's more of a supreme let down.... They should have called it RTTQ - Real Time Tactical quickie.
