After playing Supreme Commander 2, I have to say Forged Alliance is a much better PC game.

Okay, this review is specifically about Forged Alliance. However, I have to mention a little bit about Supreme Commander 2, in order to give a polished and complete review of Forged Alliance.

Supreme Commander 2 was really fun, at least for a console game. It's by far the best RTS game ever made for a console. However, it is by far a very small shadow of the original game Supreme Commander and it's expansion pack called Forged Alliance.

It is my hope, that those who enjoyed Supreme Commander 2, will hopefully have enough interest to try out Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, and see what made the Supreme Commander series so popular over the years, and have it's die hard fan base who didn't care much for Supreme Commander 2.

In Forged Alliance, you have the ability to do coordinated attacks, and target your enemy's power stations in order to drop down their shields. The game it far more of a simulation, rather than a simple RTS. Forged Alliance allows you the freedom to control literally 1000 units at once, and the rewards players to take the time to learn how to build a base and manage their resources properly... You will never hear of a "Commander Rush" in Forged Alliance, because the maps are literally HUGE and EPIC! An experimental in Forged Alliance will literally take your whole army to destroy. Also, buildings in Forged Alliance give each other adjacency bonuses. So, if you build power next to your factory, you will be rewarded with a more efficient power grid and the same goes for mass storage build around your metal extractors.

All in all, Forged Alliance is a much more mature and refined game than Supreme Commander 2, as well as it's predecessor. For me, it's simply the best in the series since Total Annihilation.

I've already had several friends agree with me, and they are picking up copies of this game. Look for the "Gold Edition" and sign up on GPGnet, to play with us multiplayer. I will admit Forged Alliance is for serious gamers, as it has a steep learning curve. But, you will feel a genuine since of triumph and accomplishment when you beat someone online because this game takes smarts, tact, skill, and strategy to win. Most games take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to play.

I strongly feel too many RTS games nowadays are dumbed down and may be fun at first, however you quickly get bored. I still play Forged Alliance via GPGnet as the player base is strong and helpful. Most players are very nice, mature, and eager to help out noobs. Granted, there are a few bad apples and some people are just inconsiderate, but just ignore those players. I've played C&C, Starcraft, and many many other RTS games, yet Forged Alliance is still the only one I still play.

I hope everyone gives Forged Alliance a try, I think you will not be disappointed if you like RTS games that were made with a hint of genius and fun!
