This game is too good for you, but for those who are worthy, it is the greatest RTS ever made. watch?v=xd1vxsIvIrA
The economy is simple and unforgiving. There is mass, power, build capacity and time. There are no training wheels, to keep you from enjoying yourself when you learn how to ride this bike. Mass is gained from mines as well as rocks and wrecks, these are fought over throughout the game, everything is built from mass. Power is gained from generators, which are explosive, must be built, then carefully protected, without power units will not have all of their abilities. Build capacity is your engineers and factories, you never have enough. Time is the measure of a player.
You begin the game with a single unit, your acu, with which you begin making your base. After establishing initial build capacity and scouting the field you move your acu into battle to put pressure on your opponent. In this tech 1 stage mass mines and initial wrecks are fought over and the acu is king. Once the battlefield becomes clear, the players begin choosing their strategies. Tech 2 ground to overwhelm the other player's weak t1 tanks. Tech 1 and tech 2 drops behind enemy lines, to sabotage production. Tech 2 air, to bomb your enemy into submission. Put some bigger guns your acu and make it personal. No matter what decision you make, it is a question of life and death.
Perhaps you are a noob and will just turtle for a while, who knows you might get lucky and survive. Supcom FA features an array of great defensive weapons like stationary Gatling guns and shields. If you have survived this far you might find yourself up against tech t3 units, which will lob large shells on your base, decimate your t1 and t2 armies and dominate the skies. Did I mention naval? From early submarine warfare to large battleships which wipe out bases from long distances. Aircraft carriers that will produce and refuel your air force, cruisers that will put fear into your enemies' planes, destroyers that will kill everything above and below water, nuclear submarines that will sneak around nuclear defenses. (This is not theory, this is all empirical data)
In games where tech 3 units are not enough, massive experimental units are built. These proceed to chase enemy acu's around the map or get destroyed by other experimentals leaving massive wreck's that your enemies will surely want to get before you do. When experimentals fail, the big guns come out, massive artillery that can fire across most maps, experimental nukes that overwhelm nuclear defenses and wipe out massive bases, infinite resource generators, which allow you to spam so many much of anything, that your only hope of victory might be putting a giant laser on your acu, teleporting into your enemy's base and ending their miserable turtling life with your bare hands.
Everything is simulated. There is no formula. No map, no battle, no player is ever the same.
To conclude. Supcom FA will never die, because there are some of us who will continue playing this game forever. The addiction runs deep and everytime you think you understood, you learn something new, because the game designers didn't make this game. They made a world in which the players themselves create it.
