I bought this game about 8 years ago for my nes collection. I was happy with the purchase because it looked like new, complete with box and everything. Playing it was a different story. THIS GAME IS BAD!! REALLY BAD!! I don't mean the kind of bad that is good. This sucks. When I played it I was never able to get past the first stage, so I put it away and never played it again. Or course now I have an emulator that gives me the ability to save at anytime. So, I fired up NesterDC on my Dreamcast and gave it a whirl. This game has some really frustrating controller flinging action. Although, being the mature adult that I am, I don't throw my controllers anymore. What I found is that this game may not be impossible to beat like I originally thought, but it is very very hard. The controls are bad, some enmies are impossible to kill. It's very odd the sometimes you can walk in the swamp without losing any life, but other times it takes life away. There is no continue, and in a game like this it is sorely needed. I was able to get to the second level with use of the save feature on NesterDC, but I would challenge anyone anywhere to beat this game un-aided. In Swampthing's defense, I will say it is better than Cheetahmen 2.
