While visually stunning, the game's level design leaves something to desire.

Switchball's visuals are stunning for the type of game it is. The light and shadows cast from the charged ball, especially in the cave level, and the refractions seen through the glass tubes show an attention to detail not often seen in a game like this. The blurred backgrounds provide for some dizzying heights and added sense of tension. It is truly a beautiful game to look at.

However, the level design did not get the same attention to detail. While the puzzles are very easy to figure out, the actual mechanics required to solve them are not and you will repeat sections needlessly over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over... Unfortunately there is no one easy fix, such as more/ better placed checkpoints or perhaps leaving objects where they are last placed when restarting from a checkpoint. This problem is prevalent in games today, where the grind to get to the end is far more important then the game play itself. Unfortunately this game makes this problem far too evident from start to finish.
