While not one of the most notable action RPGs Sword Of Vermilion delivers a solid action rpg/adventuer experience. Playing as a Prince on a quest for revenge of his father's death. You venture to collect all 7 rings and defeat the evil that has descended onto the world. You basically go from town to town and cave to cave doing a favor for the town either getting something or defeating a boss. The random battles play out overhead while boss battles are a side scroller. What keeps the game from being boring is how the world and enameys you face evolve. The caves become more maze like and more complicated. While the monsters get more powers and are harder to take down. Battles limit your attacks and seeing that you got hit and your health is draining can be hard to spot at first. You do get better magic spells and each one dose something completely different, this helps makes the battles interesting. one thing i did not care for was having to get maps to see and near the end of the game you stop getting them ( a idome dose it for you) Other than that this is a fun game i recommend to people looking for a good action rpg on the VC.
