Dark Mirror finally revives the Syphon Filter series with this amazing shooter!
The gameplay here is just spectacular. Now, most people get pissed at the loss of a second analog stick, but surprisingly, this game doesn't even seem to need it. Face buttons are used to aim, while the analog stick is used for movement. Arrow keys allow you to access your goggles/weapons/reload/crouch. This game gives you a sense of urgency, as you play through the scenarios with interesting objectives such as rescuing hostages, killing snipers or finding key cards. There's more than enough variety of weapons to suit any style of gameplay, though mostly, you'll just need a trust sniper rifle and an SMG. Graphics for this game has been nicely done, with tid-bits like how Logan shows the different types of weapons slung on his back. Frame rates are excellent, except for when you blow something up, which causes a small hitch, but it really didn't bother me. The sounds are excellent, with different guns producing different noises, environmental and NPC chatter creating an air of realism. Also handy is the training mode, which allows even the newest players to pick this up and be running in 15 minutes flat. Anyways, the only thing that I didn't really enjoy about this game was the lack of explanation to achieve the badges or "career stats". Other than that, this fast paced shooter keeps players on their toes, boasts a phenomenal story and is definitely a shooter worth picking up for any palyer.
