Very fine game in term of classic gameplay and story, but loses alot of ground when talking about difficulty.
If you ever play the tales series you probably know what's coming, but sincerely, i say some majors changes is definitely noticable to the original fans. When i say majors changes, i wouldn't say the gameplay actually changed, but the component that make it as fun as tale of symphonia is not there. For the newbie, this game has became a hit classic because it's action meaning you control the character and dish out pain with your button-mashing skill; while also an rpg style in which you level up and gain skills, stat, and etc. The core part of this game is the fact that you can assign unique skills to each buttons+directional for an instance cool looking special moves happening in real-time. This gameplay never dissapear from the series, but for some reason the people who make this one game are complete out of their mine when they incorporate the difficulty. This game is so startling easy and that may be good thing for some of you but horrendously painful to play for some think that pro-challenge is everything. I dare say a game is half as fun when the challenges are a couple of big dimwitted humongous enemy and tiny little critters who turn their back on the one that end their miserable retarded lives. I can't believe until i see when other people mention the difficulty, the monster litterally stand there for you to slap them senseless and on occasion they whip out some amazing damage only to later drop dead from their own massively large sense of stupidity.
The encounters in the game is somewhat extended with the inclusion of long dungeon and areas, which sorta beat back the offset of having to fight the usual short battle. Nevertheless, this game is still fun because of the continual appearance of a double size cast member with various technique and skills alloted to them to make a fun mix-match combat and adventure along the way. In term of values, Tale of Legendia does pretty well in this areas to the introduction of character quests and item collections that will most often hook players to find all the goodies of the game unless they felt the inspirational mode to play further. Thus, it long and lasting compare to most rpg today with a great gameplay that has some minor issues and decent not over the top corny story line. I give this game a try for anyone into rpg and anime fan. People would definitely feel the need to try this out if they know what's good for them :) I think. Again it's mixed experience for everyone and they should try this through renting it first and if you hate it, wait for Grandia 3, which sure will be a great rpg after this one. Thank for reading and have fun.
