My first serious play at the Tales Series... Verdict? All good in the hood!
The good: I love anime cutscenes and vocal speech with animation. Loev it Love it Loveit! What fun is a game where the majority of the dialouge is written but not spoken. I want to hear what the characters are saying and how they say it not guess how they might sound. Also I'm not crazy about the whole active combat system in my RPG experience but I can mash X just as good as the next guy so it doesn't bother me here.
The Bad: I know i said it was "Just Right" but that's because there isn't a lever between that and easy. So far the game has been totally linear go to one place finish it and move on. And thus far I have not encountered any enemies that have owned me. That is a sobering experience in a game. I think you need to get your ass handed to you on a paper plate at least once or twice or you lose something.
Overall I have enjoyed playing this game and for sure when I beat it I am going to go back and play all the other Tales games.
