It's Tales of Sympho... Oh, I mean Legendia!

This is another great game in the Tales series. However, if you didn’t like the others in the series, especially Tales of Symphonia, you certainly won’t enjoy Legendia. I really like the game, but I also loved Tales of Symphonia. Tales of Legendia is almost exactly the same game as Tales of Symphonia except for a few changes that actually make this game worse than Symphonia. When you start to play, you realize this is the exact same game engine as Symphonia, all the interfaces are the same and characters are also very similar, they even use the same voice actors from Symphonia. There are a few changes; one is in the battle system. They have returned to the original 2D side scrolling battle. This is a step back for the series. Symphonia had a 3D battle system, which has a better feel, especially with the great cel shaded graphics. Another difference is the graphics, in Legendia you are more “zoomed out” so you can’t see the detail in the characters as well. This was a real disappointment because Symphonia has absolutely beautiful graphics. One improvement in Legendia is the GRADE system. You receive GRADE at the end of battle, although it is unclear until you have finished the game what the GRADE is for. In Symphonia it was cryptic as to why you received the GRADE score that you did, while in Legendia there is a breakdown at the end of each battle that details the actions that you performed to obtain your GRADE score.
