LucasArts could have done better, but still worth playing for the hardcore fans.

User Rating: 8.5 | Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 1: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal WII
If you are a fan of Guybrush Threepwood (as I am) then chances are you have been waiting for this game, or something like it, for nearly a decade.
When I heard there was going to be a new Monkey Island series for the Wii I thought,"Awesome! I'll be able to point and click with Guybrush on my TV instead of at my computer! 42" of Monkey Island greatness! I can't wait!" But lo and behold, it's not all it's cracked up to be.
For the true Monkey Island faithful, "Tales of Monkey Island" can't do any wrong. You know who you are (I'm right there with you). As long as you have G.Threepwood going up against LeChuck with witty retorts and crazy puzzles you will more than likely be thrilled. And it doesn't hurt to have Dominic Armato back doing the voice of our mighty pirate wannabe. Just don't expect the classic SCUMM interface some of us have come to know and love (eg. USE Rubber Chicken with pulley on Cable. Classic!)
I only wish there weren't lag issues and iffy vocal quality. If you can get past those you should be in for a good time.
Another concern I had was about the length. I was affraid that because it was a multi-part game the individual chapters would be too short. I was worried that it would end too soon and that led me to not wanting to play it as often as I would like to. I was actually suprised that it was longer than I expected.
All in all I would recommend it to anyone familiar with the old classic MI titles.
I give it an 8.5 out of 10.
