Worth it for the story.

While nowhere near the best game in the Tales series, I still have to say that its actually pretty good. While the map and most of the enemies are bland, the older characters and even the new ones are just as interesting s the first game. If you played the first Tales of Symphonia this is worth playing just to see what happened to all the main characters. If you didn't play the first one, then you should go play it now. While the original cast comes and goes from your main party you slowly learn what became of each one and how the "new world" you created in the first game really is. You also get to meet a whole new cast of characters. While the game falls short of being a great standalone game it acts as a great add-on to the original storyline. I wish the game felt a little more unique and that the map was something you could travel on instead of just selecting where to go. While it lacks the flare of a traditional Tales game it still has the same battle system that Tales fans know and love.
