Tales of Symphonia drops you off in a vibrant world with a lovable cast and an intricate meaningful story although simple to grasp. As you plow through the beginning of the game one big yet subtle detail is the humor in it. Overall the jokes are good but not laugh out loud good and some may be completely lame. The humor is subtle though and won't add or take away very much to the actually gameplay. Another thing that sticks out are the realtime battles. When playing 1 player you will control Lloyd, the main character and slash down enemies using techs (abilities such as sonic thrust, sword rain, tempest) and chain together lengthy combos. Combos are another important part of the battles as the enemy can't attack as long as you have a consistent combo (important on bosses). You comrades on the other hand are control by a reliable AI but can be controlled manually when call for. Overall Tales Of Symphonia is a great buy if you like rpg's.
