A new refreshing game to the Anime-inspired RPG genre.

Tales of symphonia is a wonderful story about a boy named Lloyd Irving and Colette Brunel and a ragtag team to help restore the world for Mana. The artwork to start off with has a in between feel of Cel-shaded and a drawn feeling about it. Now you will encounter a few saw-that-coming twists now and again, But I assure you the story above this is unique in it's own way. Now the battle system is not the regular turn-based combat, It's a 2D/3D real time side scroller battles which allowes you to mix up the fighting a little bit with combos and special attacks, But it's not really in-depth mostly just assigning the special attacks to the C stick. A good part is that their are no random encounters in this game, They are represented by two different monsters now thats a problem right there, It would have been nice to see more then just two types of monsters outside the cities. Though the characters rarely have a problem with voice acting, You will still come across a line with to much emotion in it or not enough character , Its a tradition with these games. The story and the battle system make this game worth the wait, And it brings a great RPG to the already RPG starved Gamecube.
