The first I would like to admit is that this review is an initial impression of the game. Without taking the time to beat the game entirely (80+ hours of gameplay) any review here is incomplete. Enough said... I haven't beat it, in fact, I've only gotten two hours into the game with two buddies of mine. The first thing you will notice about Tale of Symphonia is the cell-shaded graphics. They are done surprisingly well, even if the expressions on their faces can look a little unfit for the mood from time-to-time. Other than that, there is plenty of humor to be had in this game as well and the voice-acting is that bad either. We had some difficulty finding out how to activate the multiplayer option for the battles, but after that things began to go smoothly. I highly recommend that you do not attempt to level up the first time you hit the level map since in the early-on, you really take a lot of damage and you aren't well equipped. I would so far recommend this game to anyone owning the RPG-starved Gamecube and invite you all to post your own reviews as well.
