Revolutionary gameplay mixed with a great storyline and deep characters make ToS a great action RPG.

I have played ToS for about 25 hours now, and let me tell you that even if you don't like rpg's, this might change the way that you think about them. This game is amazing, and has everything that you would expect from a good rpg, with all of the stats, items, and good characters trying to save the world. But there's also some revolutionary gameplay involved, like the battle system, which has you actually controlling the characters, which you can make do basically whatever you would do in a fighting game. There's also the unison attacks, titles, skits, cooking, etc. that really makes the game unique and extremely fun to play. Also, the ability to customize your AI and give them battle commands make the excellent AI even better. GAMEPLAY: 10 Responsive controls, great camera (which doesn't work so well in multiplayer, but i don't play that), and the ability to customize just about everything in the game makes for about the most non-frusturating experience i have ever had in a game. GRAPHICS: 9 Beautiful cel-shaded environments and characters make this game feel like your actually playing your favorite anime show. The scene at the very beginning of the game is AWESOME, and if you get this game, what it first thing. The only problem i have with the graphics is that the characters walk in a way that the feet move while walking, but sometimes it actually feels more like your gliding on a thin layer of ice or something. SOUND: 8 Catchy tunes and great voice acting make for some excellent sound. However, there are a couple of annoying tunes that get stuck in your head for a while after hearing them for a while. The voice acting sounds so real it's kind of scary, and the voices show enough emotion so that you can really feel their sadness or anger. However, it gets annoying after every other battle to hear lloyd say "i was just warming up". VALUE: 10 When the box says that there's over 80 hours of gameplay, they weren't kidding! I've only played for about 25 hours now and i'm not even 1/3 of the way through the game yet! Over 130 weapons, hundreds of other items to collect and a lot of fun mini-games make this game as long or as short as you want it to be. If you want to do everything this game has to offer, then get ready for about 100 hours of playing. REVIEWER'S TILT: 10 One of the funnest games i've ever played. If you have a gamecube, buy it. (A strategy guide would be very helpful for anyone who buys this game. I didn't buy one, and i find myself constantly going on gamefaqs.com for hints : \)
