Interesting enough for a Tales fan, but not for beginners!

So lets get to this and point out the basics this game is a game based on most of the Tales games out and puts them all into one game with there own story. All there personality's and such will be the same as they were in the game and you can tell where each character comes from in the sense of why Senel is looking for his sister states he is at the beginning of legendia at the time and when Luke and Tear are trying to get Luke back home as Luke still has long hair and being a jerk about everything! Most of the jokes and stuff will related to tales fans and most other players new to this kind of game will either just not get it or think its pointless. The game gives you just basic info on each character and makes you use a CUSTOM character in which this character in the one you will probly always use. Why you ask? Manly becauses its the only character you have any control over on equipment, leveling up normally, what class you want to be. All the Tales characters will be assigned a level and may or may not join you on your missions. I find this may be so you don't always pick your favorites and end up using every tales character in the game. You also got merceries which are just like you with there own stuff but you got no control over them. Good part whatever level you are they will be around the same level. Tales characters will have to be leveled up however making it long and boring. The whole problem with this is your main character having all this choice of stuff becomes so strong that everyone else in the game is useless compaired to you. Sometimes you are better off going solo against bosses then reviving your pathetic team mates. The game offers the 3D style of TOS and TOA but no free run sadly. This is great as honestly I think tales works much better in 3D. Few problems however! You could keep running and hit a dead end and its just thin air and then run to feet and then hit another wall which makes no sense. You sometimes get stuck in a side angle and can't move period as your enemy kicks your but, luckly you can still hit him and if he knocks you down you will re-adjust to the screen. This glitch for me only happened on 1on1 duels so don't worry to much about it. This game pits you on a 4 players at once battle against your enemies and your main character will look exactly how you equip them from armor to helmets to swords to staffs. It kinda makes up for the lack of equiping on all the other characters but still just isn't the same. The bulk of the story is mini quest you go on kill some monsters come back and so forth. You can also cook, forge and such. The dungeons are preety basic and have no puzzles in them at all sadly. They do offer some stuff like chests, spots you can pick for items to make food and forge with and random monsters appearing on the screen and as you touch them you enter battle. Through all there quest you will have story quest that lead on to the main story, but there very similar except give you boss battles to fight, which can be more of a challange considering most of the tales characters are underleveled except your custom character. Through your adventure you will be able to view lots of little skits involving all the tales characters for fans and also do 1on1 to 2on1 to 3on1 matches, some which are more annoying then fun as your being attack so fast and hard you can marly stop falling down and flitching. Overall the games preety basic, but thats because its not a true tales game. Personnaly I would of liked a true tales game for the psp before this one came out but non were ever ported to america sadly. So if your a tales fan its a decent game to keep you in touch with your tales games, but for others its an ok game and all but its not five star material.
