FINALLY! A Wii fighting game worth playing!

User Rating: 9 | Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars WII
I'm that particular breed of gameplayer who loves fighting games, but cannot play them to save their life. I continually lose, never quite learn all the tricks, and atleast half of the time I win it is due to sheer luck. I can, however, tell the difference between a crappy button-masher and one that takes actual skill.

This is a fun game. I was disappointed with SuperSmash Brothers because I never felt in control of my fighter, and never was abe to master the controls. I mention this game because it was the "must-have" fighting game for the Wii. Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is what Super Smash Brothers should have been. I would have preferred TVC to have more fighters I actually was familiar with instead of a handful of familiars amongst obscure others. And like all fighting games, some of the fighters are throwaway and suck and will only be played once. BUT, there are some REALLY AWESOME COOL characters! Especially the big robotic looking dudes, like the gigantic meat tenderizer and the juggernaut-ish gun-toter. And I feel like I have mastered a few of the characters and all their moves with some degree of confidence which is a hard thing for me to find, and when I win or lose I can be assured it was not sheer luck but was due to my skill, unlike soooo many of the other games out there.

Overall, it's a nice-looking game visually, FUNFUNFUN to play, easy to learn, quick to master, and based on skill not luck. Thus far, it is the single best fighting game on the Wii and beats Smash Brothers out of the water. Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is a game you should have, or atleast rent. It's way worth it.
